Originally from Mississippi, Stedmond began my journey in Kansas City in December of 2016. He was inspired by the mission of the Kansas City Center for Inclusion and how it seeks to lift others to a higher level of understanding, consciousness, and acceptance for all. Profession wise, he currently serves as a Portfolio Manager in the North Central Regional Office of the Corporation for National and Community Service . This involves providing oversight and management for AmeriCorps and Senior Corps grants geared toward alleviating poverty and strengthening communities. Stedmond has actively served as a Safe Zone/Space Ally; programs that aim to provide safer spaces where all people can bring their authentic selves and feel safe, welcome and included. This group was created to develop, enhance and maintain environments in workplaces, schools and other social settings that are culturally competent and supportive of the LGBTQIA+ Community. As he enters his third year of service with KCCI, he is extremely honored and grateful to be a part of a group of such magnanimous individuals.
