Center Re-Opening FAQ: Navigating COVID

Will the Center’s hours change?
No, the Center’s drop-in hours will remain constant:

Monday – Thursday4:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Friday – Sunday1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Does reserving the space for my group or organization count as drop-in?
No, clubs, groups, and other organizations will still be able to reserve the Center’s space, but they will be required to fill out a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to ensure all protocols will be followed.

Where will this MOU form be?
To reserve space within the Center and gain access to the form, an interested party will need to email scheduling@inclusivekc.org.

Will there be any special rules once the Center is open?
Yes, the Center will be beholden to all city, county, state, and federal rules and regulations and at this time the strictest regulations are provided by the City of Kansas City and Mayor Lucas’ 10-10-10 plan.

What is the 10-10-10 plan?
According to the city, “The 10/10/10 Rule specifies that all non-essential Kansas City businesses must limit the number of customers allowed in their establishment at one time to no more than 10 percent of building occupancy or 10 people (whichever is larger), and recommends recording the names, contact information, and approximate entry/exit time of all customers who are on premises and seated for more than 10 minutes.

Are there other rules I have to follow?
Yes, in order to keep Center staff and visitors at ease, all individuals entering the Center must wear a facemask and sanitize their hands upon entry and maintain social distance from Center staff and volunteers working. In addition, individuals will need to fill out a contact form for contact tracing purposes.

What if I do not have a mask?
If you do not have access to a face mask or face covering then the Center will provide you with one until our stock of facemasks reaches zero.

What if I don’t want to wear a mask?
After careful conversations with our Center staff, volunteers, and board members we determined that a face mask and face covering is required and there will be no exceptions. Our community is made up of individuals who are immunocompromised and our discomfort from a facemask pales in comparison to the risk of their lives.

What if I am feeling sick or running a fever but I have a mask can I still enter?
No, if you are experiencing any COVID-19 like symptoms or are running a fever then you will not be permitted to enter the Center.

Will the Center operate differently?
Yes, the Center has taken additional steps and sanitation practices that we will be following. The door handles will be sanitized after each visitor enters and exits, as well as any other surfaces they may have come in contact throughout the space. Before closing each night, all Center surfaces (including but not limited to counters, tables, desks, and chairs) will be sanitized and cleaned in accordance with products approved by the CDC and EPA.

Will the Center have any in person programming?
All Center sponsored programming will be suspended while we are in this phase of operation. However, committees, staff, and volunteers are hard at work planning programs going forward. We are committed to keeping digital programming going forward – stay tuned!
