Please join us for YOGA at the Kansas City Center for Inclusion! New Thursday class starting this fall with Kansas City native and registered yoga teacher, Kara Laricks.
What should I bring? Yourself and a yoga mat.
What should I wear?
Put on some clothes, do a test run in a downward dog-type pose and if you are comfortable, wear what you’ve got on. Tutus welcome. So are yoga pants, sweats, basketball shorts, whatever you can bend and snap/stretch in.
What kind of yoga class is this? Vinyasa Flow.
I’ve never done yoga before. Is this class for me? Yes.
I am a seasoned practitioner of yoga. Is this class for me? Yes.
How can you answer “yes” to both of those questions?
This class is for the LGBTQIA+ community. We will sync our breath with movement, ignite our cores individually and our core as a community. We will strengthen our bodies and our resolve. Most importantly, we will do a little bit of good for ourselves in a time when we could all use some refueling. This class is about taking the proper self care to enable us to care for our community.
What’s it gonna cost me? This is a come as you are, pay as you can class. Donations welcome and budgets respected.
Sign me up. When and where?
Thursday, September 7 at 5:30 pm at the Kansas City Center for Inclusion, 3911 Main St. KCMO.
Class will be held 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm with a “get to know your teacher” chat from 5:00 pm until the start of class. Join Kara at 5:00 pm to learn a little bit about her ties to the Kansas City LGBTQIA+ community and the unconventional path that led her to teaching yoga (and to you).
Additional questions? Contact Kara directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
