Liberty Memorial, Penn Valley Park and Public Queer Looks

A community presentation and discussion with Artist, Anthony Marcos Rea

Date: Sunday, 17 November 2019
Time: 1:00pm – 3:00pm CST
Location: Kansas City Center for Inclusion
Address: 3911 Main St, Kansas City, Missouri 64111

Join us as we share the culminating public artwork of Anthony Marcos Rea. Centered around the Gay community that once occupied the Liberty Memorial during the 1980’s – the afternoon will consist of a showing of photographic portraits and “monuments” documenting the memory of this public space in Kansas City’s Queer history. It will be followed by an open discussion regarding the erasure of community spaces and “checking-in” as preservation.

Light refreshments will be served
